The Golden Snub-nosed Monkey. Yes, it looks like something out of Star Wars, yes this one looks a bit grumpy, and yes it may also have been the basis for the Chinese legend of the Monkey King. Win, win and win. Maybe my favourite animal from Volume 3? They tread an uncanny line between cute and arrghhhh. They are an old world monkey, which as far as I can tell means they use their tails for cushions, rather than swinging from trees. Sounds eminently sensible. In fact the only downside is that the internet showed me a proboscis monkey and those images will haunt me until I die.
