The Stegosaurus. Lived about 145 million years ago, give or take a million years. A MILLION YEARS! Occasionally, when I think about dinosaurs, my brain just gives up. What a ridiculously long time. They were the length of a bus, weighed over 6 tonnes and had a spiky tail that could punch holes in bone. But their brains! Their tiny little walnut sized brains really let the side down. How on earth does an animal that big do anything other than just stand around and fart, with that little processing power? Although maybe that is all they did. Reasonably tricky to tell. In fact, we don’t even know what the flappy bits on their back were for. Someone respectable at some point suggested that they might have used them to fly. I assume that they lost respectability shortly after, but I appreciate their audacity.
