The Glaucus Atlanticus, or, to give it one of its much cooler names, the Blue Sea Dragon, The Blue Angel, The Dragon Slug or the Blue Dragon. I’m going to go with Dragon Slug. This, finally, is a type of nudibranch, which has been vigorously suggested by some of you. I can now see why. They’re basically like tiny little spaceships. Almost certainly aliens, although obviously that information has been suppressed and I can’t find any ‘evidence’ on the internet. They float upside down on the surface of the sea, deploying what is effectively a cloaking device, camouflaging them from above and below. They eat Portuguese man o’ war amongst other things and select and store its venomous nematocysts in special sacks at the tips of its feathery fingers for defensive measures. Not only that but it concentrates the venom, making it more powerful and deadly than the jellyfish. Finally, they are hermaphrodites and have rather interesting sounding sex lives, but I’ll let you look into that on your own if you’d like to learn more…
